My baby boy Leo is nearly eleven months old which means I’ve changed a hell of a lot of nappies since his arrival at the beginning of the year.
Like with most things to do with looking after a baby, changing a nappy can seem a little daunting at first, but really once you’ve got the hang of it after a few times, it’s an absolute doddle. (Although admittedly it always pays to be prepared for an unexpected surprise too!)
Getting nappy changing right is important though, particularly because you’ll want to do your best to help prevent nappy rash and keep your baby feeling happy, comfortable and dry.
So here to help are some of my top nappy changing tips, which will enable you to change your baby’s nappy like a pro.
In a nutshell, be prepared, clean thoroughly, apply a barrier cream, fasten securely and use nappy changing as a time to bond with your baby. I promise you it’s nowhere near as bad or tricky as you might think.
