I’m a mum of two hungry little monsters – Indy, who is two and a half years old, and Roar, who has just turned six months.
I learned a lot weaning my daughter, so now that I’m starting out on our weaning journey with Roar I thought it might be useful to share some of the things I’ve found most helpful.
Because, the truth is, weaning can feel like a bit of a minefield.
There’s so much information out there and certain parenting cliques can make you feel that you have to do it one way or the other, that there’s a right way or a wrong way to feed your baby.
Do you do purées at first, or go straight in with baby-led weaning? What meal do you start with and what do you do when you’re out and about? Sweet or savoury tastes first? How can you know if they’re eating enough? The truth is, you have to find what works for you and your baby.
There’s no getting around the fact it’s going to get messy at times… but it doesn’t need to be an all-out food fight! So, I’ve put together my top tips for starting weaning.
Have a wee watch to avoid getting egg on your face!
