A former glamour model caused a stir earlier this week after it was revealed that her “flash for donations” page had been removed from two fundraising sites. She’d promised to send pictures of her breasts to anyone who donated, a promise the sites said violated their terms and conditions. The mother of two told her story to a newspaper and she was subsequently given over R4 million.
Inspired by kids
Being a single mother to her three and seven-year-old children is what inspired Tracy Kiss to raise money for charity. She explains at length on her website about her desire to do good for others, and how painful breast surgeries and a breakup with an ex prompted her to become a fitness fanatic in order to stay strong for her kids.
She speaks about how her confidence was at an all-time low when she embarked on toning her “mummy tummy” but now she loves sharing her toned body with the world on her social media accounts.
Then this happened:
28th May: “I’m utterly speechless right now, I can’t believe what has just happened. This afternoon I had a £10.00 donation from a guy who contacted me through my Facebook page like many others, an hour later he then donated a further £1,050.00 and it was the biggest single donation that I’ve received to date. Just an hour after that he then donated £200,050.00 and I literally can’t stop crying. I’m shocked, shaking amazed and bewildered all at the same time.” via TracyKiss.com
She said that the donor asked her about her charity work, and, when asked, said he’d inherited some money. The giant donation, she says, will allow her to donate to over 200 charities, and she’s thrilled to be able to give to places in need, such as an intensive care ward for premature babies (she had previously experienced a miscarriage) and more. She’s even asking for suggestions for the best charities, and she’s not keeping a cent of her donations.
Despite being attacked by trolls and other online abusers, she’s maintained that she’s proud of her fundraising and that her children would be too, and that people should look at how she’s helping out rather than what she’s not wearing in her pictures.
Here’s a not-so-safe-for-work story of her fundraising:
